What would you do?

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

Many people have mused over this question. It is commonly attributed to the First Lady, Elenor Roosevelt. It has been used in classrooms and through groups worldwide. I first hear it on a YouTube video about the Pokemon Trading Card Game (JWittz).

And to be honest, I do not have an answer, yet. Despite being a full-fledged adult, I do no know.

Of course, I would love all of the modern trappings of success - money, fame, influence.

I would also love to have all of the traditional trappings of success - family, friends, meaning.

Is it possible to have both? Who knows.

What I know is that I am still pondering that questions. Despite a great career through which I’ve been successful and well compensated, despite having a loving family and a marriage that is thriving well into its second decade, despite all of the things that have gone well, I still do not know what I would do if I knew I could not fail.

So, instead - for now - I am out sailing the high seas with my wife and our two dogs. And I continue to think. Maybe we can find some answers together.
